Knowledge, Attitude, and Emotional Problems Regarding COVID-19 among Undergraduate Nursing Students

Background: Undergraduate nursing students considered from the most vulnerable group who are at risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection. To protect undergraduate nursing students' healthcare authorities should keep them away stress and anxiety and improve their knowledge, attitude, practice towards COVID-19. The study aimed to assess emotional problems regarding COVID-19 among students. Methods: Design: A descriptive, web based-cross-sectional study was used. convenient sample of all 280 undergraduate in Faculty Nursing Sohag University was included 20 June 2 July 2020. Tools: self-administered related questionnaire designed using Google forms COVID-19 related KA, link survey sent respondents via Whatsapp groups and depression, anxiety, Stress Scale (DASS). Results: majority the undergraduate were knowledgeable about COVID-19 which indicating a high level knowledge indicating optimistic attitudes. As regard emotional problems, result presents that 70 % nursing students suffered moderate stress, while only 11 normal. Regarding level, detected 60 students suffered 18 normal. Related to depression 35 moderate level depression. Conclusion: more than two-thirds undergraduates less them suffered around one-tenth normal, and more one third depression. Recommendations: suggested need additional research on predictive factors affecting people's era outbreak and carried out intervention activities through various mediums help undergraduates nursing become during epidemic.
